Like all of the Owl & Ember notebooks, Everyday Inserts are designed to fit in a traveler’s notebook cover and are available in two common TN sizes, but they work independently as well.

MORE ABOUT EVERYDAY INSERTS:There’s nothing more exciting than a new blank notebook, and the Owl and Ember Everyday Inserts are a fantastic place for a new beginning. Created by journal-lovers with true journaling and planning in mind, they are made from paper which loves ink and glue and gesso.

THREE VARIATIONS:
- Blank: creamy paper in a simple cover; nothing more
- Dots: a small dotted grid on every page in a variety of Risograph colors
- Lines: delicate lines, perfect for writing but not so obtrusive that you can stray without being scolded; printed in a variety of colors on our Japanese Risograph

We love a good, blank book, and we created journals we love to use! We make them in small batches by hand in the USA. Our Everyday Inserts are also eco-friendly printed with soy inks on FSC-certified paper. They are fully recyclable and/or compostable when you are ready to dispose of them, too (if it ever comes to that).

A NOTE ABOUT RISOGRAPH PRINTING:Everyday Inserts are produced using a vintage Japanese Risograph printing duplicator. Imagine an old-fashioned printing press and a fancy copy machine had a baby -- that’s the Risograph. Each color of soy-based ink is laid down separately -- like a printing press -- on rich, toothy paper. Like screen printing, each page must dry completely before the next color is applied -- a process which takes days.

The soy inks are applied like paint, and occasionally some smudging may occur. This is to be expected. And as with any handmade product, imperfections are part of the charm! The result is a beautifully printed, handmade product with rich colors and an artistic feel.

Owl and Ember produces each printed product in small batch runs at our headquarters in Menlo Park, California. All Owl and Ember products are printed on FSC Certified papers.
